Challenge II : I'm on a Roll!

So after successfully challenging myself to clean my house last week, I decided to tackle another part of my house.

This bad boy (aka my hall closet/bookshelf)

It's clear I am a total bookworm and I am not ashamed to admit it. I love reading a good book with a juicy plot while lazing around in bed wasting the day away. Because of this, books were overtaking my house, and not just in this bookcase, but here also:

In my bedroom:

And here:

Which is pretty much anywhere else I can find some random space!

So I gathered all the books together and throw all most of them out.

This is what I found myself up against

(Keep in mind this mess was AFTER I filled up that box on the left with about 40 books for my mother!)

Did I mention I found my high school annuals which had me doing this for about 2 hours while the huge pile of books mentioned above blocked everyone's way in the hall?

All and all this challenge was a total success. I have no need for books anymore now that hubsy got me that fabulous pink Sony reader that has fueled my addiction to trashy novels well written pieces of non-fiction by notable authors and made me the happiest girl ever!

See my nice, empty bookshelf!

However, I did allow myself to keep the following books, because I just couldn't part with them. They are pretty much the best books ever written, so if you are wondering what to read, you should totally read these:

1. Dry by Augusten Burroughs (and everything else written by him)

2. The Namesake by Jumpa Lahiri (and everything else written by her)

3. A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry

4. Shes Come Undone by Wally Lamb

5. Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Don't really love it, but Hubsy gave it to me the first Christmas we were together so I kinda need to keep it!)

6. The Book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton

7. Things Wives Wish Their Husbands Knew About Women by James Dobson

8. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

9. The Rules for Marriage by Ellen Fein

Now, off to take a nap find something else worthy to occupy the rest of my afternoon.
